Fire Lizard Friday

The look 😎

Charizard 11/108 Illus. Mitsuhiro Arita

Arguably the most famous Pokemon artwork. Recognised worldwide.

By Mitsuhiro Arita himself, one of the OG’s.

Rarity

This is the 1st edition of modern cards. Highly rare and highly sought after.

Charizard Holo

  • PSA pop: 31,856

Charizard Holo Pre-release

  • PSA pop: 1,296

Charizard Staff Pre-release

drumroll

  • PSA pop: 480

So, when I say this is the 1st edition of modern, let’s take a peep at the OG 1st edition.

Charizard Base Holo

  • PSA pop: 45,486

Charizard 1st Edition Holo

  • PSA pop: 3,924

Similar proportions compared to their respective regular holos.

But obviously one is wayyyy more sought after by collectors, and finding one that wasn’t stored amongst Lego and chocolate is a hard find too.

So, in reality, I think the saying goes, “mum, do we have 1st edition Charizard at home?”

Pricing

Big bucks, bucko.

The 1st edition of modern is extremely popular, and expensive, evidently.

Other staff cards from Evolutions

Gyarados 34/108 Illus. Mitsuhiro Arita

Mewtwo 51/108 Illus. Ken Sugimori

Machamp 59/108 Illus. Ken Sugimori

None of them are even close to comparing to the king.

For our modern 1st edition fire friend, we may see prices shoot way up when Logan Paul’s future grandson unboxes another 1st edition booster box, sweeping the world into another Pokemon card craze.

That’s a wrap!

I hope you enjoyed the fifteenth edition.
