Fusion Strike

This set had huge shoes to fill following the release of the 2 biggest sets in Sword and Shield, Evolving Skies and Celebrations. We know how that went.

But I keep wondering “why wasn’t it a hit?”

Of course it wasn’t going to be bigger than ES, but it isn’t even in the top 5 most expensive sets of SWSH.

The biggest cards in the set:

Gengar VMAX Alt Art

Gengar VMAX 271/264 Illus. sowsow

Espeon VMAX Alt Art

Espeon VMAX 270/264 Illus. Kouki Saitou

Mew VMAX Alt Art

Mew VMAX 269/264 Illus. AKIRA EGAWA

These Pokemon are fairly popular and they have fantastic arts (the Mew isn’t anything to write home about though).

Gengar has shot up, while Espeon has gone up a lot last year it seems to be leveling out. Mew just being Mew.

Other great cards in the set include: Celebi V Alt, Mew V Alt, Elsa’s Sparkle FA Trainer, Genesect V alt. Some great cards, but nothing to carry this set to the top.

The prices on these cards, and boosters will most likely go up as the set gets older, with the release date back in November 2021.

Fusion Strike BB

The price of the booster boxes are going up too. You can still get boosters for retail in store though. I imagine once these are exhausted, the prices on booster boxes will shoot up.

Overall the set itself is quite appealing and it may one day be one of the more popular sets in Sword and Shield.

That’s a wrap!

I hope you enjoyed the tenth edition.
