Modern Monday

Rayquaza V/VMAX/VMAX TG

The legendary that rivals Mewtwo in popularity.

Okay, maybe there’s no comparison.

Ahem anyway, Rayquaza had loads more love than Mewtwo in the Sword and Shield series.

Rayquaza VMAX 218/203 Illus Anesaki Dynamic

Rayquaza VMAX Alt from Evolving Skies.

Personally, I think they could have made this card look way better to show off Rayquaza’s raw power. Regardless, it still looks fantastic. The big green boi flying low through trees and mountains really demonstrates its sheer size.

And oh boy, is it flying up a mountain right now.

Next up:

Rayquaza V 194/203 Illus Ryuta Fuse

Rayquaza V Alt from Evolving Skies.

I love this illustration. I don’t know how to explain it, I guess it’s the composition, it has Zinnia (who featured in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire) and her dumb looking Whismur. And of course our favourite Pokemon who looks like a boss, ready for battle.

Price is holding strong, with a slight increase in October last year.

And last, but not least:

Rayquaza VMAX TG20/TG30 Illus Hideki Ishikawa

WHAT AN ABSOLUTE STUNNER! This card has by far the best illustration out of these Rayquazas. The low shot, big green boi looking fiercely and what I guess is the opponent, Zinnia ready to take on anyone, the lightning in the background.

Beautiful card.

But how does it perfom price wise?

Since its release in Silver Tempest it has only come down. That’s what happens with most cards in the separate trainer gallery section of sets. They can be super popular, but with high pull rates it diminishes the price of the card. Great for people who want to pick it up for a reasonable price!

Time will tell if this will go up.

So there you have it. 3 fantastic cards for an ever popular legendary.
Do you own any?
Do you have all 3? surprised Pikachu face

That’s a wrap!

I hope you enjoyed the seventeenth edition.
