Pokemon Card 151 Made-to-order
In light of recent events the official Japanese TCG website announced Pokemon Card 151 booster boxes will also be sold as made-to-order through the Pokemon Center website.
If you didn’t know, this was also the case for the last set, Snow Burst & Clay Hazard, after the set sold out nationally.
It looks like The Pokemon Company wants to actively rid the scalpers in Japan.
But by making it more exclusive, it will only get more popular.
Clever marketing tactic.
New Reverse Holo Rarity
Introduced with Pokemon Card 151, the Pokeball reverse foil has a chance to be Masterballs instead.
Regular reverse foil for comparison:
Each box will only contain one Masterball foil pattern.
To my homies collecting master sets. Goodluck to you all.
Whether this will come to the international sets has yet to be announced.
WOTC Wednesday
Featuring Sabrina’s Gengar from Gym Heroes (2000).
Sabrina’s Gengar 14/132 Illus. Ken Sugimori
Gengar looks menacing here with the evil face and the off centre positioning. But there is a reason for this, just not visible on the English version.
The Japanese version stirred up a bit of controversy due to the location Gengar is standing in.
Take a look:
Gengar is standing next to graves with tombstones and crosses.
Why were they removed?
Some say The Pokémon Company decided it was better to avoid any references to Christianity in their cards, and others say it would be a bad influence on the kids to show a Pokemon hanging out in a cemetary.
So it was all removed and now he just looks like he’s standing in a void.
The PSA 9 prices are shown above as they are more actively sold. PSA 10s were going for $6K USD 2 years ago, now just around $4K USD.
