Fire Lizard Friday

The Pokemon so popular it gets its own day of the week.

Charizard V 154/172 - Illus. Ryota Murayama

This is the card I wanted to focus on as it has had an interesting rise and fall in price. Fantastic art, but why the dip?

Remember when the rainbow zard was going for $300, then the alt was going for about $200? Then there was a switch. The alt was worth more than the rainbow.

  • Compared to the Giratina V alt which is still climbing in price, it makes you wonder what happened (not comparing to Umbreon Vmax and Rayquaza Vmax alts because they are Vmax cards)

  • I suspect it’s because of how easy the Charizard V alt is to pull compared to Giratina V.

  • Given Charizard’s sheer popularity (and how cool the artwork is), it may see an increase in the coming years.

The note line is Google’s improved results date

The popularity doesn’t stop. Searches for “charizard alt” have only been increasing since the internet first witnessed the card.

That’s a wrap!

I hope you enjoyed the third edition. Hopefully this one is a bit easier to read.
