Special Holiday set confirmed

Will release later this year in spring.

Contains cards from Japan’s Pokemon 151 set.

Japan’s Pokemon 151

This set will be sold in Mini Tins, ex Boxes, an Elite Trainer Box, an Ultra Premium Collection, and other currently unrevealed products.

A holiday calendar will also be released in September.

More potential sales coming up

We may have more sales coming up with stores attempting to move slow stock to make room for the next series of cards in Scarlet and Violet.

I will be keeping an eye out. 👀

Throwback Thursday

Gold Reshiram from Legendary Treasures.

The vast white Pokemon.

Reshiram 114/113 Illus. 5ban Graphics

One of two secret rares from its set. The other, the gold Zekrom.

These were the first gold Pokemon TCG cards.

The Zekrom:

The question is; which is worth more?

Looking at Zekrom, the deep black Pokemon:

Selling for around $55USD ungraded.

Looking at the PSA 10 sales, one sold in 2021 for nearly $2300USD. But only a month ago another one sold for almost $1000 less, at $1381.58USD.

Now, over to Reshiram:

Ungraded sells for a bit more at around $70USD.

But look at the PSA 10 sale. $5450USD! Just sold this year.

Why? Is Reshiram the more popular of the two?

]

Hmm, about even, really.

Okay, what about the pop report at PSA?

  • 702 total for Reshiram, including 45 graded 10s.

  • 708 total for Zekrom, including 36 graded 10s.

There is a slight difference in numbers, but with the 9 lower pop for Zekrom you’d think it would have the higher price.

I’m stumped. Maybe it was price manipulation on Ebay. Maybe there was a desperate buyer.

The listing itself seems legit [link]

I would guess desperate buyer.

If you know why a PSA 10 Reshiram is so much more than a PSA 10 Zekrom, let me know.

Right now I feel like this:

What?

What?

That’s a wrap!

I hope you enjoyed the twentieth edition.
