Obsidian Flames’ Underwhelming Reveal

You’ve seen by now the cards that were leaked from Obsidian Flames.

There’s lots of talk of the set not looking so great.

The chase cards are:

• Charizard

• That’s it.

I will agree that there are some nice looking illustration rares, but personally I am not buying and booster packs to try to pull them. I will just buy the singles. (IR Scizor, please!)

And who could forget this little guy!

But most of the set looks like bulk.

Don’t go crazy unless you are crazy for most of the secret rares.

Also, I want to point out that this set contains the first tera secret illustration rare. Many more to come I am sure.

Trainer Tuesday

Featuring a two for one card.

Cynthia and Caitlin from Cosmic Eclipse 2019.

Waifu tax doubles up on this card.

Starting off around $60USD one year ago.

Only to increase to $153.89USD.

So what are a member of the Unova Elite Four and a Sinnoh champion doing on the same card?

Caitlin owns a villa in Undella Town, which she allows Cynthia to use. The interior of the villa is featured in the Regular print's illustration.

Because if you thought it was about two popular characters…

There’s no competition.

For Cynthia to be more popular than Brock in recent years really says a lot.

Brock has featured in hundreds of episodes of Pokemon, whereas Cynthia features in only a few.

But then again, Cynthia does play a larger role in the Pokemon games.

I am using Brock to highlight how popular Cynthia is.

Then there’s Caitlin. Almost nothing compared to the Sinnoh champion.
